Hello, hello, hello, seasons greetings! By the looks of it Instagram has also gotten into the Christmas spirit, treating us to two major updates right before the new year, whilst many of you will be creating your best nine Instagram post for 2017 you might want to take a minute out to check out these new updates.
Instagram Story Highlights
The first of the major updates introduced earlier this month was Instagram Story Highlights, in an increased bid to push their Stories feature, Instagram have now added a dedicated section of a users account to their past stories. As an Instagram user you can now pin your favourite stories to your feed as a highlight, extending the viewing time for your stories beyond 24 hours. We at Hopper HQ love this new feature, allowing you to add more layers to your Instagram account, and not ruin your feed aesthetics. Great when you want to add some spontaneously created content and not ruin your main feed.
You Can Follow Hashtags
Right this is the big one, and will massively change Instagram the way you use Instagram as a platform. You can now follow your favourite hashtags on Instagram, the same way you follow others users on Instagram, posts that feature a specific hashtags will go straight into your feed, so you can have better control over what you want to see. Gone are the days of sifting through your feed to find the content you like from the content you don’t. If you love seeings drooling images of burgers, or perhaps want some fashion inspiration you can just follow the relevant hashtags instead of trying to find suitable accounts.
