International Men’s Day – November 19th

International Men’s Day is observed annually on November 19th, and aims to shed light on the issues that affect men and boys all over the world, as well as celebrate the roles men play in society. Suicide remains the biggest killer of men under 50, in the UK and other countries, and IMD aims to raise awareness and start conversations addressing societal norms that make this the case! International Men’s Day also falls in the month of Movember, where men grow moustaches in order to raise money and awareness for men’s health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer, and men’s mental health.

It’s amazing to see the amount of support and conversation happening across social media on International Men’s Day. Brands, influencers, celebrities and the general public all join the discussion, sharing experiences, information, and positivity. Make sure you get involved and think of a campaign that contributes to breaking down harmful toxic gender stereotypes which are still so prevalent in 2019!
