What is a chronological feed?
Often times you’ll hear the term Chronological Feed in social media conversations. Essentially a Chronological feed is used in social media platforms to display content to users via a timeline or newsfeed in a chronological format. Chronological feeds display content with the latest published content displayed first. Initially both Facebook and Instagram had chronological feeds, displaying the latest content first, however both platforms switched to feeds based on algorithms, as their research suggested users were missing up to 70% of content on their news feeds. Twitter still operates on a chronological feed.
