How many hashtags should I use on Instagram in 2026?
Instagram's own guidance is three to five hashtags per post. Stuffing the caption with 20–30 stopped helping reach some time ago and mostly makes the caption harder to read. Our generator defaults to five for that reason.
Can I copy and paste hashtags on Instagram?

Should hashtags go in the caption or the first comment?
Either. Instagram folded the two placements together for the purposes of reach a while back, so it comes down to which looks cleaner in your feed. Most creators lean on the caption for Reels and the first comment for grid posts.
Are the hashtags safe? Do you avoid banned tags?
The generator prefers descriptive niche tags over trendy ones widely known to be banned or shadow-limited. Instagram doesn't publish a live ban list, so we can't guarantee any single tag is safe today — but the ones we return should be. If in doubt, skip a tag that shows only ~20 recent posts on Instagram.
Do the hashtag packs work for Reels?
Yes. Reels lean more heavily on the topic modelled from the video itself, so trim any pack down to the two or three that describe the Reel most directly. The dedicated Reels pack above is already sized for that.
Do I need to create an account?

Where do the tags come from?
The generator asks an AI model for a set matched to your description, then filters the result — deduping near-duplicates, dropping generic spam tags, capping length and casing. The copy-paste packs are hand-curated per niche, weighted toward descriptive tags rather than the most saturated ones.
